The below video was posted by a man who was on the receiving end of insults being hurled by a Kenyan woman.
In the video, the woman is seen saying, “I came to America to look down on you. You are black Americans. You are trash just like your mothers. My mother in Kenya told me not to associate with black Americans because they have no self esteem.”
The 22-year old man, who was at the Boston train station with his cousin, uploaded the video on his Facebook account, accompanied by the following message:
“22 year old young man with a woman old enough to be my mom disrespecting my culture, everything that I am, all the stereotypes we already face and work everyday to over come. Shit hurt. But look theres positive message in everything , find it in this video, discuss, move on. Don’t make anyone else feel like this and educate one another.”
We chose to post this video to spread awareness on the on-going cultural conflict between Africans and African Americans. It’s incredibly sad that after everything our ancestors have been through, this is how we have chosen to treat one another. Hopefully, this will be a wake up call for the black community as a whole.
